'Twas the Season of Advent

I can now in good conscious say it is time for the Christmas season!

This is one of my favorite times of year, but in all the busy it is easy to lose sight of the ‘reason for the season’.

So, in this Again and Again review, I’m introducing you to a precious advent book, as well as a precious author I am getting to know,0 Glenys Nellist.

Her book ‘Twas the Season of Advent, is a twenty-five day walk through the original Christmas Story. But instead of ending at the baby in the manger, Glenys starts with the baby in the straw.

I loved this approach! Even as you go through the twenty-five days, the way that Glenys moves you through the multiple perspectives that are not in the typical order, which is refreshing and enlightening.

These devotionals are short and sweet, great for an over dinner devo moment. And the illustrations are captivating. Your kids will love the detail and awe portrayed on each page, as well as the sweet prayers and verses to point you to the truth behind each day.

I loved prereading through this Advent devotional aimed at children ages 4-8 years of age. Though my kids are at the top of this age range, I look forward to reading it with them starting December 1st. If you’re looking for a devotional style Advent book, it’s not too late to order yours.

Glenys Nellist was born and raised in a little village in northern England. The author of multiple children's books, including the bestselling 'Twas the Evening of Christmas, The Wonder That is You, and four popular series: Love Letters from God, Snuggle Time, Good News and Little Mole, her writing reflects a deep passion for helping children discover joy and hope in the world. Glenys lives in Michigan with her husband, David.
