Again and Again Book Review with Leslie Colburn

Cover for I Want you to Know

On this month's Again and Again Book review is the lovely Leslie Colburn, and her book "I Want You to Know".

This sweet little book is filled with adorable illustrations and words of wisdom we want all our kids to know and hold onto as they grow into adults.

Whether you read this as a first-time momma or as a high school grad it is a charming reminder of not only where our value comes from and how much we are loved.

This book is easy for little ones to read in short spurts when their attention span is limited and encouragement to kids as they grow to remember the truth and love that their parents taught them.

But the heart and mission of this book are what I love the most.

All proceeds received from the sales of this book are donated to the Unaccompanied Student Initiative, near Leslie's community in Wyoming.

The Unaccompanied Student Initiative seeks to:

  • Provide a home for homeless teens who live in a variety of unsafe, temporary situations - including cars, parks, shelters, motels, and couch surfing.

  • Provide a support system for participants in the USI program, allowing the youth to focus on obtaining their high school diploma or equivalent

  • Teach life skills, such as resume writing, budgeting, goal setting and achievement, and personal advocating, so that once they graduate the USI program, they become productive, independent members of society.

  • Stop the intergenerational cycles of homelessness.

Leslie's heart is so big for not just children but young women in a hard place who may not have had a loving home to receive the messages of hope that are found within this book. I can't wait to talk with her on Instagram Live 8/28 at 10 AM. Be sure to join us. :)
